New FTU ohmic discharges with a liquid lithium limiter at IP

× 1020 m-3 confirm the spontaneous
transition to an enhanced confinement regime, 1.3-1.4 times
ITER-97-L, when the density peaking factor is above a threshold value of
1.7-1.8. The improved confinement derives from a reduction of
electron thermal conductivity (χe) as density increases,
while ion thermal conductivity (χi) remains…
Asteroid 13241 Biyo was observed at Virginio Cesarini Observatory
(Italy) on 1 night in March 2011. The resulting lightcurve shows a
synodic period of 2.199 ± 0.219 h and amplitude 0.99 ±0.03
mag. in the R band.
We here present our on-going project to unveil the post-nova population
by re-discovering old novae that have been lost after the initial
outburst and of which the binary itself is unobserved. We take UBVR
photometry for the candidate selection, long-slit spectroscopy to
confirm these candidates, and time-resolved spectroscopy to measure the
orbital period of the newly confirmed post-novae. Some preliminary
results are shown as examples.
